The Health Equity Fund of Ohio was created to help ensure that everyone, regardless of income, insurance status, or where they live, can access the care they need, when they need it. Our mission is rooted in the belief that health care is not a privilege, but a human right.
Across Ohio, hundreds of thousands of people are uninsured or underinsured. Many others face additional barriers, like transportation, language, or cost, that prevent them from getting the preventive and critical care they deserve. We’re here to change that by partnering with trusted community health centers and supporting them in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to those who need it most.

What We Do
We support health care providers and centers across Ohio by funding programs that:
- Increase access to preventive screenings and diagnostic care
- Offset the cost of services for uninsured and underinsured patients
- Support reproductive and maternal health
- Expand mental health and chronic care services
- Empower patients through health education and community outreach
We don’t just fund care, we help transform systems. Our model is built on long-term relationships with providers and strategic giving that addresses the most urgent and persistent needs in our communities.
Why It Matters
700,000+ Ohioans remain uninsured. Many more are underinsured, face racial disparities, or live in communities with limited access to clinics. Without intervention, these individuals are forced to delay care, skip treatments, or forgo life-saving screenings.
